After a lot of training and decision making, our first match of the Fingal GAA school leagues was against Balscadden NS. Unfortunately for us it was away. Finally the match day came and the squad was selected. The match kicked off and we got off to a pretty rough start as we weren’t really in the game which resulted to 8 points down at half time. When the 2nd half started all of us lifted our heads high and knew the match wasn’t over until the full time whistle was blown. Everyone that day played at their best and brought us right back into the game. Towards the last 5 minutes we brought it to a draw but unfortunately Balscadden sneaked a goal in past our goalkeeper which resulted in a full time score of 4-5 to 4-2 to Balscadden.
Just after a great victory against Bracken ETNS at home, our 3rd match came around against Ballyboughal away again. We got off to a better start compared to the Balscadden match but we just couldn’t get a good lead over Ballyboughal. We also couldn’t get all the scores we should have and by half time we were a few points behind. Once again we didn’t give up and we kept going and at one stage we took a one point lead over Ballyboughal. However we couldn’t keep the lead and Ballyboughal took the lead again. Finally we entered the last five minutes where we scored a goal and a point which took us 2 points down and when the full time whistle was blown we lost by 2 points. It left a full time score of 5-4 to 5-2.
