The chess tournament began at 11 o’clock. Each player got to play 3 matches. Our team included Cian, Han, Alex, Oran, Aliseo . The three other schools that came to play our school were Balbriggan N.S, Balbriggan Educate Together and Holywell Educate Together .Our first match was against Balbriggan N.S . We won four out of the five matches that we had. Each match a player won they got a point for their school .Our second match was against Holywell. We had to win at least four of our matches because Holywell had won four of their matches as well. We won all 5 of our matches. Now we were in the lead with 9 points, Balbriggan N.S was behind us with 8 points. Our final match was against Balbriggan Educate Together. We had to win all 5 of our matches to make sure we were ahead of Holywell. And we did, we had a total of 14 points. Holywell came second with 12 points. We all shook hands and got some biscuits and medals. We got gold, Holywell got silver and Balbriggan N.S got bronze. We also got a little trophy for our school. When the other schools left we took a couple of photos with our chess teachers Marco and Dermot .
